Our Career and Technical Education Program is changing. As a Dulles High School alum, i’m familiar with the current location and I can say it has not changed much today. We need to make sure that the program moving forward is truly inclusive and involves everyone, especially those who will truly benefit from it. This system, in combination with the complexities of House Bill 5, will change how our students learn and develop. I’m concerned where each dollar of the allocated $59 million in bond money will go. The measures outlined in recent public meetings sound good in theory, I wonder though how realistic it will be that the distribution is equitable.

As your trustee, I will pay close attention to the direction of this program and be the voice on the board for all families who see this program as an opportunity for their children’s success.
