Fiscal Responsibility

As a state, Texas ranks 29th in state spending on education. As a project manager in the financial services industry, I understand the importance of making sound investments and managing funds. Putting dollars towards our children is investing in our future. With the 84th Texas legislature making House Bill 4 law, the state has finally put priority on educating our students earlier. I see this as a restoration of previous drastic cuts to public education, but a step in the right direction. This high-quality grant program will allow districts and charters to receive funding for qualifying prekindergarten students.

We will need an advocate from our district to help secure this funding and make sure adequate resources are provided to each student. I will make sure legislatures in Austin have FBISD high on their priority list.
